Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which wood choices are available?
Many of the common hardwoods, such as maple, birch, and cherry are available with FSC designation and can be customized to your needs. To create a space with a special rustic charm, we specialize in “wormy” grade salvaged butternut or antique salvaged woods. Additionally, we offer a diverse range of tones and textures in solid bamboo for more contemporary frame-less cabinetry applications.
  • Are Eco Cabinets more expensive?
Eco Cabinets are built with commonsense building practices that are efficient and cost effective. Specific wood choices and sources are priced accordingly, but the overall extra investment is typically minimal and sometimes non-existent. As an effort to lower our carbon footprint, we limit our Eco Cabinet availability to clients within one-day drive from our shop. This also keeps shipping and delivery charges to a minimum.
  • What LEED® credits can Eco Cabinets qualify for?
    Local Regional Materials: 1 pt.
    Locally Extracted Materials: 1 pt.
    Rapidly Renewable Materials: 1 pt.
    Certified Wood: 1 pt.
    Low Emitting Materials: 1 pt.
